It will examine various ways stress can influence your life and what it might look like physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Most importantly this workshop will explore ways to find balance and manage stress in both the work and home environment.

This presentation is aimed at keeping municipal administrators current on several issues to ensure the practical side of their responsiblities does not create barriers in achieving results.
Topics will include:
- A review and clarification of the capital borrowing process to provide administrators the resources to manage the increased level of capital projects created by increased funding to address infrastructure sustainablility by the spring of 2011. (Wendy Wolfe)
- To assist administrators in understanding the new "Bottom Line" created by the implementation of PSAB for 2009 financial reporting. In addition, administrators need to stay ahead of the curve by exploring what lies ahead on the PSAB road. (Ron Wells)
 
FIPPA & Ombudsman - 2.5 hours - Embassy C - F

The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act  (FIPPA)

 

This session is aimed at providing you with the fundamentals of access to information and protection of privacy law in Manitoba. A representative from the Manitoba Government, Information and Privacy Policy Secretariat will introduce you to the main concepts of freedom of information, including the right of access, the application process, applying exceptions to disclosure, and key definitions. The principles of privacy protection and your obligations under Provincial privacy law will also be explored. The Manitoba Ombudsman will review her office’s approach and process for investigating access to information and protection of privacy complaints. The Ombudsman will share her thoughts, best practices and practical approaches for dealing with FIPPA.
